Magoo Bubba Gordon was the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and the smartest decision my mother has ever made. While I would never normally advocate for children to be given responsibility over animals, dog people are a different breed. Magoo was brought into my life at the tender age of 6 and passed shortly before my 22nd birthday.

        He was a precious 16-pound shih-tzu mix. We went through elementary, middle, and high school together and moved to Athens, GA for college in 2020. Without Magoo, I would not be who I am today. Magoo went to high school with me as a task-trained service dog, even making an appearance in my Senior yearbook. To know Magoo was to love Magoo.

 

        While he was never AKC/UKC registered, Magoo ignited my passion for veterinary medicine and dog training, forever shaping my future. I intentionally decided to overlap Mumble’s beginning with Magoo’s ending, and I am so grateful I did. I see Magoo’s admiration and drive shine through the eyes of Mumble. While there will never be another dog like Magoo, I will forever work to carry on his memory. Magoo will forever be one of the key foundations of my soul and character. I hope to provide others with the same kind of amazing companion and dog Magoo was, and Mumble is the beginning of that dream.
